Chen Xiaoping

Vice President of Chinese Association of Research and Development of Ecological Civilization,  Vice President of Chinese Council of Environmental Protection, Executive Director of China Environmental Culture Promotion Association, and the group leader of the United Nations PPP Global Expert Group on Solid Waste Energy Standards, the President of Asia Pacific Solid Waste Energy Utilization Association, the researcher of China’s International Economic Development Research Center, and the visiting researcher of Columbia University. Mr. Chen made a speech about how companies should react towards the government environmental protection policies and the cooperation opportunities between the U.S. and China.

Dr. Mark Moese

President of BRISEA Group, over 4 years working experience in ecological restoration and hazardous waste disposal. He used to provide testimony to the USEPA as an environmental expert and participate in writing the instruction documents for the USEPA. Dr. Moese shared with us about his working experience of environmental protection in China and the U.S., as well as his opinions about the challenging China is faced with and the cooperation opportunities in environmental protection between China and the U.S.

Dr. Zhang Hanwei

Tech director of China Everbright International Ltd and Green Environmental Protection Ltd. Dr. Zhang has over 20 years working experience in renewable energy. He used to work for the world’s largest waste management company– Covanta Energy in RD and management of solid waste energy utilization, biomass power generation, and hazardous waste disposal.  

Dr. Arthur Lerner-Lam

Executive director of Lamont- Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University Earth Research Center. Dr. Lerner-Lam teaches the course of sustainable development in Columbia University. He has provided consulting services to different countries governments including the U.S. Congress about environmental protection and how to prevent a natural disaster.

Dr. Xie Yuefeng

Professor of Pennsylvania State University and professor of Tsinghua University, the candidate of National One Thousand Talent Development Plan. Dr. Xie established the small public water system technology service center and environment training center in Pennsylvania State University. He is the former committee member of the U.S water plant association and the president of Chinese environmental engineering and science technology association in the U.S.. Dr. Xie made a speech about the history and current situation of the by-product of drinking water disinfection.

 

Dr. Zhang Wen

Associate professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of New Jersey Institute of technology. He developed the new multi-functional nanometer material for antimicrobial products. Dr. Zhang gave us a report about how to use nanometer technology in environmental protection and the latest technology demand.

Dr. Dan Elliott

Senior consultant of Geosyntec, over 20 years working experience in environmental solutions and restoration. He served management positions in the global largest pharmaceutical company and industrial equipment manufacturer. Dr. Elliott’s speech is about the new technology in wastewater disposal as well as the development and application of nanoscale zero-valent iron.

Dr. Wang Bin

Director of EMSL Water Environment Lab, leading the lab to be one of the largest EPA LT2 project labs in the U.S.. Dr. Wang has more than 20 years of research and working experience in environmental monitoring.

Dr. Shao Chaofeng

Associate professor of School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Nankai University. Deputy Head of Nankai University Environmental Planning and Evaluation Research Center. Director of China society for sustainable development. General Secretary of Tianjin Sustainable Development Research Institute.

Li Yurong

Co-founder of Fluid Technology Solutions, director of international business. Ms. Li has over 25 years in international marketing and business development experience in water treatment and environmental protection.

The first Sino-American Environmental Protection  Innovation Conference, co-held by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, Great New York(CAST-GNY) and Chinese Environmental Scholars and  Professionals Network (CESPN), co-sponsored by China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) and Rutgers University School of Engineering was held successfully in Rutgers University in New Jersey on Aug 11th 2018.

Entrepreneurs, scholars and government officers from China and the United States came together to attend the conference and discuss how to face the challenges in global environmental protection.

This conference had keynote speeches and panel discussion in the theme of solid waste disposal, industrial water treatment, and environmental restoration as well as the innovative policies for sustainable development. It provided a valuable platform for scholars and professionals to know about the latest technology and government policies in environmental protection, also creating a great opportunity for experience exchange and potential cooperation.
